5 Best Wufoo Alternatives 2026 Review

Are you thinking about signing up for a Wufoo alternative? This post details all the limitations of Wufoo and discusses the five best online form builders to switch to.

Wufoo is an easy-to-use online form builder that allows you to create various types of forms within minutes. However, there were a few limitations we encountered when testing this form builder:

  • You can't collect signatures without connecting to a third-party application such as DocuSign
  • You can't use AI to build a form from a description
  • The free plan is tight: 5 forms, 100 entries per month, and only 10 fields per form
  • The conditional logic features are a bit limited

In order to avoid this, we believe you should look out for these features when choosing a Wufoo alternative:

  • AI features: You should be able to build a form by simply typing a short description into a chat box, then refine it in a visual editor.
  • A usable free plan: You should be able to run real forms on the free plan without hitting a 10-field ceiling.
  • Payments without a premium plan: Wufoo only lets you accept payments from its Professional plan, which costs $33.25 per month billed yearly. Prices checked September 2026.
  • Conditional logic: An online form builder shouldn't limit you to showing and hiding single fields. For longer forms you want page-level logic too, so respondents skip whole sections that do not apply to them.

Below, we'll walk you through five Wufoo alternatives that fill this criteria, starting with our tool, FormBuilder.

  1. Best AI features: FormBuilder
  2. Best free Wufoo alternative: Google Forms
  3. Best Wufoo alternative for Microsoft users: Microsoft Forms
  4. Best Wufoo alternative for surveys: SurveyMonkey
  5. Best Wufoo alternative for WordPress users: WPForms

Note: If you'd like to use the features we mentioned above to build beautiful forms and embed them on your website, you can sign up for a free FormBuilder account here. You don't have to enter your credit card information! There is also a side-by-side FormBuilder vs Wufoo page.

1. Best AI features: FormBuilder

This is how FormBuilder fixes the limitations that Wufoo presents:

  • You can collect signatures without connecting to a third-party application
  • You can build a form with AI or import one you already have
  • You get a free plan without a field limit
  • You can collect payments with Stripe and send data anywhere
  • You can create logic across fields and pages

You can collect signatures without connecting to a third-party application

When we tested Wufoo, we found that we couldn't collect e-signatures from respondents without connecting a DocuSign account or another signature tool.

Since most small businesses don't want to buy a separate signature product, this often forces respondents to sign a piece of paper and upload a photo. Because this adds extra steps to the form completion process, completion rates suffer.

So FormBuilder includes a signature field. When designing your form, drag the signature field from the left-hand side of the editor onto your form, and when you embed the form on your website, respondents can sign directly in the form.

You can build a form with AI or import one you already have

Wufoo doesn't have AI capabilities to speed up form creation. You have to build forms from scratch or start from one of its templates, and while templates help, it isn't the same as having an AI build a form for you.

With this in mind, we built the FormBuilder AI form generator. Type what you need ("a consent form for a photography session with a signature field and a date"), and FormBuilder drafts the form in seconds. You then edit it in the drag-and-drop builder.

If you are moving off Wufoo, you can also import a form from a PDF or a URL so you don't have to rebuild every form by hand.

You get a free plan without a field limit

Wufoo's free plan caps you at 5 forms, 100 entries per month, and 10 fields per form. FormBuilder's free plan also gives you 5 active forms and 100 responses per month, but there is no field cap, and conditional logic, multi-page forms, file uploads, templates, email notifications and form analytics are all included. No credit card is required.

You can collect payments with Stripe and send data anywhere

Wufoo reserves payments for its Professional plan and above. FormBuilder includes Stripe payment fields, so you can charge for registrations, bookings and orders inside the form.

Submissions can go straight to Google Sheets, to a webhook, or to more than 100 apps through Zapier. If you need a fully managed signing workflow on top of the in-form signature field, you can also connect DocuSign through Zapier.

You can create logic across fields and pages

Another limitation we found when using Wufoo was the conditional logic features. Conditional logic refers to asking respondents different questions depending on what they previously typed into your form.

Wufoo's field rules can show or hide a field based on one or more conditions, and you can choose whether all conditions or any condition must be true. But you can't mix AND and OR inside a single rule, and the actions are limited to show and hide.

FormBuilder combines conditional logic and calculation fields with multi-page forms, so you can show or hide fields and keep sections that do not apply out of a respondent's way. See our FormBuilder vs Wufoo comparison for a feature-by-feature list.

Pricing

FormBuilder's free plan is free for good. The Pro plan costs $39 per month with a 14-day free trial and includes 100 active forms, 10,000 responses per month, no FormBuilder badge, custom branding and custom domains. Wufoo's paid plans run from $16.25 to $210.25 per month billed yearly.

2. Best free Wufoo alternative: Google Forms

If you're looking for a free online form builder that still offers features such as customizable templates, third-party integrations, and section-based logic, then Google Forms is a good choice.

While Google Forms does have its limitations, it's a staple among many businesses because of its simplicity and ease of use. You can create a form inside the editor and embed it on your website within minutes.

The best part about Google Forms is its easy integration with other Google products. For example, if you're collecting job applications, you can connect Google Forms to Google Sheets and all the information users give you will be neatly organized inside this spreadsheet.

3. Best Wufoo alternative for Microsoft users: Microsoft Forms

If you already have a Microsoft 365 account, you don't have to sign up for a new form builder because it comes with Microsoft Forms.

This form builder is a step up from Google Forms as it comes with a larger template library and, if your organization has a Microsoft 365 Copilot license, a Copilot feature that drafts forms for you based on what you type into the chat box.

Microsoft Forms also has more branching options than Google Forms, so it's easier to build longer forms with multiple potential pathways for the respondent to take.

4. Best Wufoo alternative for surveys: SurveyMonkey

Consider SurveyMonkey if you're looking for something specifically designed around building surveys.

Unlike more generalist form builders that allow you to create application forms, contact forms and order forms, SurveyMonkey is mainly meant for surveys. SurveyMonkey has hundreds of different survey templates with questions you might want to use for your vertical. This is perfect if you don't know what questions to ask because all the questions in SurveyMonkey's templates are common industry questions.

Once you've received data about your respondents, you can transform this data into pie charts, scatter plots, and bar graphs to help you understand the survey results and communicate these results to stakeholders. Wufoo is owned by SurveyMonkey, so the two tools share support resources.

5. Best Wufoo alternative for WordPress users: WPForms

If you own a WordPress website and you're primarily looking for a Wufoo alternative that allows you to build forms inside your WordPress dashboard, opt for WPForms. WPForms is a WordPress plugin, so you don't have to use a separate application.

Like FormBuilder, WPForms allows you to easily build forms and embed them on your website by dragging and dropping certain blocks, such as question blocks, signature blocks, payment blocks, and more.

WPForms also connects with hundreds of apps through Zapier, so you can notify yourself, your team, and your respondents about new form submissions.

Next steps

If you'd like to use the features we mentioned above to improve the form building process, consider signing up for a free FormBuilder account. With FormBuilder, you can build a form with AI, collect e-signatures and Stripe payments, create conditional logic across multi-page forms, and send every submission to Google Sheets or your favorite apps.
